The Presidential Caribbean Cup tournament will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this October in Aruba and you should be part of it! The tournament celebrated a record-breaking event last-year with 109 billfish releases during three days of fishing.
The preparations for the tournament are in full swing and boats are reserving their spot to participate according to Laura Penate, the event coordinator. “Aruba fishing has flown under the radar for years. It may even be the best kept secret spot for bill fishing, which is why we are spreading the news on this great fishing location. We already have boats lined up from Aruba, Curacao and the USA, including teams that have competed and won in previous years such as Alina, Naira and Tara winner of last year’s tournament and the boat to beat. All top teams are competing for the 10th year title.”
The event is well organized according to Budget Marine’s Aruba manager Tony Waldron: “Joan Vernon, founder of the event, has helped run numerous high-profile fishing tournaments around the world and this reflects in the way this tournament is run. The Aruba Caribbean Cup is also an all-release tournament and helps raise awareness and funds for marine conservation efforts, important reasons for us to continue supporting this event.”
If you haven’t yet visited Aruba this may be your chance to experience the great fishing opportunities you have here year round. The event is scheduled for October 17th to 20th and is sure to leave an impression.
