The HX890 Floating, waterproof (IXP8) 6-Watt Class H DSC Handheld VHF/GPS has a water-activated emergency strobe light. Features include a 4 code CVS2500A and a 32 code FVP-42 scrambler system to ensure secure communications out on the water, and a built in FM Broadcast band receiver for relaxation when radio communication is not necessary. It has switchable daytime or nighttime mode, waypoint and route navigation, group monitor function utilizing DSC Group position call. Its ergonomic case design has been rigorously tested to conform to the Military Standard (MIL-STD-810F). Its large display measures 1.7″ wide by 1.7″ tall, or 2.3″ diagonal.

The sensitive 66 channel WAAS GPS receiver locks on to a position quickly and accurately so the user can share position information using DSC and navigate to waypoints. It comes packaged with all the accessories including the rechargeable 11-hour operating time with 1800 mAh high-capacity Li-ion battery, an Alkaline battery tray, 110 V wall charger, 220 V adapter, charging cradle, 12 V charger, PC programming cable and belt lip with lanyard.
