🚫 What We Intentionally Don’t Sell

At Budget Marine, we carefully select the products we carry. Over the years, we’ve made the deliberate decision not to sell certain items because they have consistently failed to deliver long-term customer satisfaction in Caribbean conditions.

Here are a few examples:

⚓ Stainless Steel Anchors

While stainless steel anchors may look stunning and highly polished, real-world use tells a different story.

  • 🌊 Stainless steel is constantly exposed to harsh marine conditions.
  • 🧂 In tropical saltwater environments, even the most expensive models can develop a thin film of corrosion.
  • ✨ When placed on a bow roller, this often leads to visible staining and cosmetic frustration.

Beyond aesthetics, underwater stainless steel can also carry risks if not properly maintained. For us, reliability and durability come before appearance.

🏄 PVC Stand-Up Paddle Boards

Inflatable PVC paddle boards are popular — but our experience in the Caribbean has raised concerns.

  • ☀️ Constant sun exposure and heat weaken PVC over time.
  • 🔧 Adhesives used to bond seams often fail in tropical conditions.
  • 🧵 The fabric and structure tend not to hold up to regular, rugged use.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen too many of these boards end up in the garbage after a relatively short lifespan.

If durable Hypalon versions become widely available, we would gladly test and reconsider offering them.

🌴 Built for Caribbean Reality

Our decisions are guided by one principle:
If it doesn’t perform reliably in Caribbean conditions, we won’t sell it.

We believe in offering products that last, perform, and provide real value to our customers — even if that means saying “no” to certain trends.
