Budget Marine Antigua was pleased to be the primary sponsor this weekend (10 & 11 February) of the annual Jolly Harbour Valentines Regatta which is now in its 26th year. With an entry count of 10 boats there was disappointment with respect to visitor numbers but no disappointment with respect to the quality of competitive sailing and conditions.
Three classes were determined, and Class One was won by Huey Too against two much higher rated and more modern vessels. In Class Two Blue Peter won with a youth crew guided by Tanner Jones, but his son Carack did all the driving. In Class Three Seal cleaned up with seven 1st places, also winning the overall prize of the regatta. Wonderful to see a modest older boat win a regatta in the Caribbean and send the message that old hulls are not necessarily landfill material.

The prize-giving ceremony made clear that this event is driven by volunteers and that the support amongst the Jolly Harbour community is solid. Budget Marine is delighted to support such volunteer strength.
