On Saturday the 11thof January the Sint Maarten Sea Rescue foundation received new all-weather GILL coats donated by Budget Marine and Horizon Yacht Charters. The Sea Rescue team has had a busy couple of weeks due to the strong winds around the island and often came back cold and soaking wet. These coats are of the highest quality and will keep the team visible, warm and dry while they can assist people in need on the water.
The Sea Rescue team is a team of volunteers that are on standby 24/7 to assist mariners and other sea-goers at any time when in distress. They have offered their assistance in many emergency situations, from crashed airplanes to sunken ships and missing swimmers to persons lost at sea. The Sea Rescue foundation depends fully on donations from the community. Without proper boats and without a trained crew they will not be able the lifesaving foundation.
