3M’s velcro-like fastening systems are reclosable and flexible, and often better alternatives than zippers, screws, snaps, hooks, bolts, etc. The Hook & Loop system consists of two woven strips, one covered with hooks and one with loops (like Velcro). The Dual Lock system consists of two woven strips, both covered with mushroom shaped stems.

Different back types are available:

• Sew on type; no adhesive
• General purpose, pressure-sensitive, rubber adhesive; bonds to most surfaces.
• Very-high-bond VHB pressure-sensitive adhesive; UV and plasticizer resistant.
