Budget Marine and Interlux / AwlGrip play mayor role in Powerade Regatta

Budget Marine and International Paints Interlux Yacht Paint and Awlgrip played a major role in the LSR division of the Powerade regatta that took place this week end in St.Maarten’s Simpson Bay Lagoon by providing the new jibs for the boats that raised the standard of this very competitive event. Six very evenly matched boats completed sixteen races in stiff breezes with two of the teams fielding crews from the Kids at Sea Program. The bouy and boat management was also done by Kids at Sea Volunteers.

The event distinguished itself by having very very close racing with large numbers of very close bouy roundings and close encounters of the exciting kind. The winning team included Robbie Ferron with Petovens Louis of the Export Department on the foredeck and Dr Luc Knol in the mid position. They managed to hold back the ever improving ex-Budget Marine partner Alfred Koolen who sailed with Catalog Manager Kathy Gifford and Huub Lambooy. Third place went to the Kids at Sea Program entry with Garth Steyn driving and two young ladies who proved their worth very clearly.
