Team Gi Gi II triumphs at well-supported Budget Marine TTGFA Wahoo Blowout 2015

This tournament, which took place on Saturday 28 Feb and Sunday 1stMarch 2015, was a resounding success. In this, the 2nd year with Budget Marine as title sponsor, there was a noticeable increase in boats as well as anglers entering, according to Mark de Verteuil, Tournament Chairman, ‘the highest that this tournament has ever seen.’ The atmosphere was one filled with sheer fun and excitement. Anglers braved the very rough waters on both days, each determined to be triumphant. Despite the heavy conditions along Trinidad’s North East Coast and Grande Boca, 142 anglers (including 4 female and 10 junior anglers) on the 32 participating boats still managed a good catch totaling 2609.75lbs of fish, 72 Wahoo and 1 Kingfish. The gesture of the Trinidad and Tobago Game Fishing Association (TGFA) with their donation of 1000 pounds of fish to various charities was a reflection of the support and passion of the game fishing community and their desire to give back.
