The Aruba Nautical Club organized its 7thannual Budget Marine Wahoo Fishing Tournament On March 11, 2017 with 15 teams and 50 anglers. The morning started with a good breakfast at the club while fishermen were debating the not so favorable weather conditions. Once they were on the water it turned into a good fishing day, with several teams bringing in wahoo weighing between 28 and 34 pounds.
Winner of the tournament was Sixty Knots, captained by Ronnie Dennert, with two wahoo caught totaling 64 pounds. Deryl Kock, angler on Sixty Knots, won best angler by reeling in the largest wahoo weighing 42 pounds, making sixty Knots the clear winner with gift certificates of 1500 AWG in total value.
The day ended with Aruba Nautical Club thanking Budget Marine for their support as title sponsor of the event as well as Bula Surf Shop, all participants, all volunteers and the staff of the Aruba Nautical Club.
