Tahla’o Victorious at 7th Annual Budget Marine Tournament

PHILIPSBURG-Fishing Team Tahla’o from St. Barths, was crowned Champion Boat of the 7th annual Budget Marine Wahoo Tournament. Tahla’o had two impressive days of fishing over the weekend landing 25 Wahoo totaling 854 pounds. Shuggie Two from Saba came in second with eight fish totaling 260 pounds and caught the largest King fish. Jabinge Zaegers age 13 aboard Shuugie Two won Best Junior Angler reeling in a 53 pound Wahoo.

Fishing team Yellow Whip from St. Martin, which included our very own Fishing Expert Justen (Phil) landed the largest Wahoo of the weekend weighing 68.20lbs, coming in as 3rd place overall.The winner of the tournament is Tahla’o from St.Barths.

Tahla’o had the second largest Wahoo at 58.70lbs. Nathalie Kate from St. Maarten netted the prize for the largest Mahi Mahi of the tournament, weighing 31lbs. Nathalie Kate also had an impressive second day of fishing landing four monstrous Yellow Fin Tunas, setting a new record with the largest one at 66.7lbs. Erilia Romney aboard Nathalie Kate was recognized as the best Female Angler of the event after landing a 62 pound Yellow Fin. The best dressed crew went to a team Living The Dream.
